Name :- Somnath Shrine
Location :- Prabhas Patan museum, 300m north of the Somnath temple which houses the reconstructed 12th-century shrine from the main temple, complete with delicately carved ceilings and it also showcases spiritual paintings.
Time period :- It is said that the ancient 12th Century shrine was refurbished by the Chalukyan Maharaja Shri Mularaja Deva Solanki of Anhilvada Patan. The site of Prabhas Patan was occupied during the Indus Valley Civilisation , 2000–1200 BCE. After abandonment in 1200 BCE, it was reoccupied in 400 BCE and continued into the historical period
Teaching from all eras :- It shows how culture and heritage was protected over the centuries . It is said that the temple was destroyed many times but reconstructed which teaches that through various civilisations people in the area were very resilient . Prabhasa means place of splendor and Soma means Moon. It is a port since long and splendor could be because the place was rich due to trading activity .
